Resource Treatment Center - Indianapolis, IN

History

Resource Treatment Center was founded in 1997 to provide quality treatment programs for youth aged 8-20 who have experienced a variety of emotional and behavioral challenges. Since joining the child welfare-juvenile justice provider community in Indiana, the cornerstone of our growth has been a proactive response to community needs as identified by those we serve, with an overarching commitment to treating the most vulnerable children and families.

Our campus is located on nine acres of land in central Indiana, and includes a building originally constructed in 1871 as a home for Civil War-era orphans. We are proud to continue this tradition of service to children and families over a century later.

Resource Treatment Center is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Youth and Family Centered Services, Inc.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide individualized, strength-based, client/parent-centered services that will improve personal effectiveness and maximize opportunities for lasting growth.

Populations Served

Programs at Resource Treatment Center are designed to meet the needs of males and females, ages 8-20, with special emphasis on maladaptive behaviors, including inappropriate conduct and oppositional defiance, impulsivity, attention deficit, parent/child conflicts, mood disorders, and sexual reactivity.

Types of Programs

  • In-patient residential treatment for male and female children with extensive mental health and legal histories who require an intensive therapeutic milieu.
  • In-patient residential treatment for male and female children early in their involvement with the juvenile justice system, who are in need of a time-limited, structured setting where presenting issues may be addressed so the likelihood of further exposure to the system may be prevented.
  • In-patient residential services for males and females remanded to the Department of Correction who can benefit from case management and therapeutic intervention to address their criminally maladaptive behaviors in lieu of incarceration in a more restrictive correctional facility.
  • PRTF Program  (Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility)  /  Ages 11-18

Accreditation

  • The Joint Commission
  • Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, Child Welfare Division.
